General information

Description of AVAP’s assessment of Valencian universities:

• DOCENTIA (Teaching Performance Assessment Programme) is the Spanish National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA) programme which aims to provide a benchmark, a model and procedures for the assessment of teaching in universities.

• Assessment of the following criteria which are considered essential to the introduction of proposed degree programmes: the social and economic demand for the programme, the selective introduction of degree programmes which are efficient (i.e.: they do not provide more places than are needed) and that teaching staff provide a high-quality service which ensures that students are suitably trained.

• Monitoring of existing degree programmes, based on general information. These programmes must subsequently be assessed so that their accreditation can be renewed.
